The IRP staff attended the Association for Institutional Research (AIR) Annual Forum at the Long Beach Convention Center that was held May 19th to May 22nd. The AIR Forum is the world’s largest annual gathering of higher education professionals working in institutional research and effectiveness, assessment, planning, and related postsecondary fields.
There were more than 400 sessions at this year’s forum which included a session from our very own Irene Graff and Rica Young, ECC Instructional Media Coordinator. Their session was titled “iSavvy: Using Technology and Web 2.0 Approaches to Reach Your Users”. They discussed the pros and cons of a variety of information-delivery approaches, ways to make use of available technology, and the use of social media to enliven output and engage clients. They introduced attendees to new, innovative tools they can use when presenting data on their college campuses.
We all came away from the AIR Forum with new ideas and insights about what is happening at other colleges and universities throughout the country. We enjoyed our time in Long Beach!
